Security tapes from the Meridian Office Building, nineteen ninety-four. Something was counting.
Every night at two-oh-four AM, the camera recorded one more shadow in the east corridor than there were people in the building.
Night guard Marcus Hale documented it for eleven days. Then stopped showing up for work.
February nineteenth. Two-oh-four AM. Four shadows. Building occupancy: three. It knows I'm watching now.
February twentieth. Two-oh-five AM. I stayed to watch. The extra shadow... it moved closer to the camera.
Final entry. It's standing right below the lens. I can't see what's casting it.
