Popular questions
All questions →Is Slice free to try?
Yes. New accounts get 200 free credits — enough for an animated video up to 15 seconds. No card needed.
Do I need to download an app?
No. Slice works in your phone's or computer's web browser at slice.video.
How do I sign in? I don't have a password.
There's no password. Type your email and we send you a 6-digit code — enter it, or tap the button in the email. The same code creates your account the first time.
I didn't get my sign-in code.
Check your junk or spam folder, and Gmail's Promotions tab — it comes from [email protected]. Codes work for 15 minutes; tap “Send a new code” to get a fresh one.
How long does a video take to make?
Usually a few minutes. You can leave the page — your video keeps going, and we email you when it's ready.
What should I type?
A sentence is enough — “three surprising octopus facts” works. If you already have a script with scenes, paste it and Slice follows it closely.
Can I change something after the video is made?
Yes. Tap any scene on the timeline to change its picture, words or timing, then tap Regenerate — only that scene is remade.
Can I make videos in my language?
Yes. Write your idea in your language and the narration comes back in that language.
How long can my videos be?
Free trial videos are up to 15 seconds. After any credit purchase you can make videos up to 2 minutes.
Why did my video come out as still pictures?
If you don't have enough credits for an animated video, Slice switches to still images (they cost about half). Pick “Animated video” and add credits to keep everything moving.
Can I use my own video clips?
Yes. In the editor, pick a scene and choose “Use my footage” — it's free. Clips you upload are kept in Media.
Can the same person appear in every video?
Yes — create a character once and they look the same in every video. You can even give them a cloned voice.
What is a credit?
Credits pay for the AI that makes your video. A typical 15-second animated video uses about 160 credits; a 30-second one about 260.
Is there a subscription?
No. You buy credits once, only when you need them — from $5 for 200 credits. They never expire.
Do I lose credits if something fails?
No. If a scene fails to generate, its credits go back to you automatically.
What is auto top-up?
An optional setting: when you drop below 100 credits, we buy your chosen pack again so a video never stops halfway. Turn it on when you buy a pack, and off anytime in Settings.
Where are my receipts?
In Settings, tap “Card & receipts”. Payments are handled securely by Stripe — we never see your card number.
How do I save my video to my phone?
Open the video and tap Download. It takes a moment to prepare the full-quality file, then it saves.
What size are the videos?
Vertical 9:16 at 1080×1920 — the shape TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts use — with captions built in.
Will my video have a watermark?
Free trial videos have a small “Sliced by Slice” badge. After any credit purchase your videos are clean — you can switch the badge back on if you like.
Can Slice post for me?
Yes. Connect your account once, then tap Share on any video to post now or schedule it for later.
Who owns the videos I make?
You do. You keep what you upload, and we give you whatever rights we hold in the videos made for your account.
Can I use photos or voices of real people?
Only with their permission — that goes for uploading someone's photo and for cloning their voice.
How do I delete my account?
Email [email protected] from the address you sign in with and we'll delete it.
Nothing matches that. Try another word — or ask us in the chat.
Still stuck?
Tap the chat bubble in the corner and a real person will help — or email [email protected].
